"Tire smoking, wheel standing, gear banging, clutch popping, are only a few of the ways to describe the British Columbia Super Shifter Associations Racing Series. These are the bad boys and girls that your mother and father warned you about. Come watch the excitement and thrill at the way Drag Racing used to be. This is truly, Manual Transmission Racing at its Best!"

PIT TALK NEWS!

April 19-20 Mission

After a week of really bad weather including snow, it was hard to believe that we would actually be racing on the weekend but mother nature was in a good mood and let the sun shine. The temperature could be have been a little warmer but who was going to complain.

The Super Shifters welcomed back the usual suspects and some new faces.

Unfortunately on Saturday there was some major carnage. Eric Rowlett destroyed not only his clutch but also his transmission while Kim Bailey managed to embedded most of his clutch into the scatter shield. After working on trying to remove the scatter shield, he called it a day. Bob Grenzow broke the clutch pedal in his 64 Mopar during time trials but was able to fix it before eliminations. Unfortunately he then broke the pinion and the ring gear during round one of eliminations giving Keith Winterbottom the win into round two. There was no question that the track was well prepped for traction. Tim Elford got the bye run as he was number one qualifier during time trials. Nice .001 light.

Round two saw Dennis Powroznik lose to Scott Nation with a .001 red light. He almost got nothing.

In round three, Rory McNeil took out Ryan Warter, the winner of the Rookie of the Year award, for 2007, and Tim Elford took out Scott Nation.

In the finals, Rory McNeil won the first race of the season when Tim Elford red lit. Congratulations Rory.

Sunday was still cold but nice. Unfortunately there was still more carnage. Len DiVencenzo broke during time trials giving Justin Gallant a single run during round one of eliminations. After a hard day of replacing is clutch and transmission on Saturday, Eric Rowlett broke his u-joint during time trials on Sunday. Eric's pit area was starting to look like an extension of the Hobo Racing pit area. Eric was given the honorary title of Visiting Hobo.

Scott Nation got the bye run in round two. Terry Hoogstins and Scott Winterbottom both ran faster than their dial ins in round two with the win going to Terry. Nice wheel stands from Scott's Mazda RX7.

Will Zoric took out Justin Gallant and Scott Nation took out Terry Hoogstins in round three.

In the finals, Will Zoric won when Scott Nation ran faster than his dial in. Congratulations Will.
The runner up curse has finally been broken.

The next races are May 17 and 18 in Mission. Hope to see everyone there.
